The S.R.C. creates the chance for all children to be able to put forward ideas through their representatives.

Houses & House Captains

Dubbo West has a strong sporting tradition, and students are exposed to this very early in their Primary schooling.

Each student is assigned to one of the four sporting houses - Bogan, Castlereagh, Macquarie and Namoi.

Each house has nominations for house captains at the end of every year from Year 5 students. These students, when reaching Year 6, may represent their fellow students as leaders of their respective houses.

To be fair, one male and one female house captain are chosen.

The house captains role is to organise banners for school events such as the athletics carnival, raise morale between fellow students in their respective houses and to encourage the members of their houses to praise and cheer fellow students.
The main sporting events that the House Captains perform these task for are the annual Swimming Carnival, held in the first term of every year, and the annual Athletics Carnival, held in either late second term or early third term.
