Annual Swimming Carnival
The annual Swimming Carnival allows students to display their swimming prowess. It can also be a stepping stone towards greater goals such as the District, Western or State Carnivals. The races cover all swimming strokes - freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterlfy, as well as the combination of strokes in the medley events.
There are also a number of distances that can appeal to a wider variety of swimmers.
The Swimming Carnival is held in the first semester of the school year and is held at the Dubbo Aquatic Centre.
Annual Athletics Carnival
The Athletics Carnival promotes demonstration of athletic ability. This can be demontrated through a number of different sports including running - both sprints and longer distances, long jump and high jump.
Students with high athletic ability can compete at a higher level by qualifying for both District and then Western Area Carnivals.
The Athletics Carnival is held in late second term or early third term, and is at No. 2 oval in Victoria Park.
Annual Fete
The annual fete is made up of several stalls set up by both teachers and students of the Primary Department. They can be anything from face painting to cake stalls, circus performances to testing your throwing ability.
Usually held in the final term of the school year, and on a Friday, the fete is run from 12 Midday to 3:30pm and is open to both Infants school students and all parents and community members to attend.
NATSI Day
National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Day is the celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. It is a celebration that the school uses to teach the students, both Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal, about these cultures.
The students attend workshops that demonstrate different activities used in these cultures, such as traditional face and body painting. Community leaders are encouraged to come and talk at NATSI day and parents and community members are encouraged to attend.
NATSI Day celebrations are held at the beginning of September every year.
