The ASSPA (Aboriginal Student Support & Parents Awareness) committee is made up of parents of aboriginal students as well as leaders in the community. There are many tasks that the ASSPA committee are involved in within the school environment. One of their main tasks is to aid aboriginal students with financial support for school excursions and sporting events, such as state athletics and swimming events.

They not only provide support to the students though, they also provide support to the parents, by running different programs to teach the parents how to help their own children with school and personal problems.
They also run programs to explain how the school institution works, and how they can have their say in some aspects of their childs schooling.
The ASSPA committee also provides financial support and equipment to the school. This includes providing funds to run the Homework Centre plus any equipment needed in these homework centres.
They provide other resources to the school, such as reading books and computers, and they even donate cultural artefacts to the school. They also organise the NATSI (National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander) Day festivities that are held at the school at the beginning of September every year.
The ASSPA Committee meets the third Thursday of each month.
